We love gardening for many reasons including:

  1. Connection with nature: Gardening allows us to connect with the natural world.  Being surrounded by greenery and observing the growth and beauty of plants is incredibly fulfilling and soothing.

  2. Stress relief and relaxation: Gardening is therapeutic effects. Physical activity, fresh air, and exposure to sunlight reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It provides a peaceful and calming environment that allows us to escape from the reality of growing older.

  3. Creativity and self-expression: Gardening provides us with an outlet for creativity and self-expression.  It allows us to experiment with colors, textures, and arrangements.  Just love spending time at our local garden store, Green Thumb Nursery https://www.facebook.com/harwellsgreenthumb/.

  4. Sense of accomplishment: Watching our garden thrive and seeing the fruits of our labor is incredibly rewarding. Whether it's growing our own food, nurturing beautiful flowers, or creating a harmonious outdoor space, gardening provides a sense of accomplishment and pride in our achievements.

  5. Health benefits: Gardening involves physical activity, which is beneficial for our overall health and well-being.

  6. Connection with food: Growing our own fruits, vegetables, and herbs allows us to have a deeper connection with our food.  Eating fresh, homegrown produce is almost always more nutritious and flavorful.

  7. Learning and personal growth: Gardening is a continuous learning process. It teaches us patience, resilience, and problem-solving skills.  It provides an opportunity to expand our knowledge about plants, ecology, and the natural world.

  8. Lastly, having a beautiful garden has always enhanced the marketing value of all of the eighteen homes we have lived in over the years.

Overall, gardening offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being, while allowing us to connect with nature, express our creativity, and experience a sense of joy and fulfillment.
